When a supporter buys an entry
Donation-based route
1. Supporter picks a tier
On the draw page they choose an entry tier (e.g. £5 for 1 entry, £10 for 3).
2. Sent to the fundraising page
They're taken to the fundraiser's JustGiving, Enthuse or GiveWheel page with the donation amount pre-filled.
3. Donation goes directly to the charity
The donation is processed by the fundraising platform. DrawFunder takes 0% of donations and never touches the money — the fundraising provider's own fees may apply, and Gift Aid applies where eligible.
4. Returned to DrawFunder & entry reference issued
The supporter is sent back to the draw page with an entry reference. The fundraiser then checks the donation against their own fundraising page and confirms the entry manually — final draw ticket numbers are assigned when the draw closes.
The money never touches DrawFunder. It flows directly from the supporter to the charity via the fundraising page, and DrawFunder takes 0% of donations. The fundraising provider's own fees may apply. DrawFunder does not verify donations with the provider — the fundraiser confirms each one against their own page.

Every draw page has an equally prominent 'Enter for free' button — no donation required.
2. Complete the free entry form
Provide name, email and postal address. One free entry per person, per draw.
3. Entry reference issued — equal odds
An entry reference is issued and the entry joins the same draw and audit trail. Free entries have exactly the same chance of winning as donation-based entries.
Equal odds, same draw, same pool. Donation-based and free entries are pooled together and drawn using a cryptographically secure random number generator. There is no distinction at draw time.

A draw becomes a lottery (requiring a licence) if payment is required to enter. Because DrawFunder builds in a genuine free entry route with equal odds, each draw qualifies as a promotional prize draw — which does not require a Gambling Commission licence.
CAP Code (Rule 8)
Promotional draws must display the promoter's name, closing date, prize details, eligibility and free entry method with equal prominence. DrawFunder collects and displays all of this automatically on every draw page.
DrawFunder is a platform, not a promoter. The individual fundraiser running each draw is the legal promoter and retains ultimate responsibility. We provide the compliance framework so they can run draws confidently.
